WelcomeWe can no longer afford to rely on oil and gas for our energy needs. The party’s over. It’s time to look for alternative sources that will fuel our cars, our homes, and, essentially, our economy. This is the premise behind the New Mexico Ecopedia. Produced by the Digital Filmmaking Institute (DFI) with funding from the New Mexico Film Office, the film clips that make up the New Mexico Ecopedia document current renewable energy projects going on around the state. Students attending film crew training programs in five of the state’s colleges were involved in the project. They were mentored by industry professionals in the shooting of the documentaries, as well as in the rigors of pre- and post-production. The New Mexico Ecopedia is an educational tool as well as a news update. The brief movies that you can view by clicking on the category of interest offer an informative look at how different citizens are achieving energy independence. These clips make up a living document meant to keep on recording the enterprise and inventiveness of New Mexicans experimenting with resources that are renewable and inexpensive. |
